Shaarey Tikvah offers a unique course called NEXT for our B’nai Mitzvah students and their parents. A B’nai Mitzvah ceremony is an important milestone in a child’s life and is also the next step along the path of Jewish education. This program explores the meaning and significance of becoming B’nai Mitzvah. Students learn about core Jewish concepts such as tallitot, tefillin, hidur mitzvah, and tzedakah. The students participate in a mitzvah project together, make their own tallit clips, explore compelling current issues, and discuss the next steps in their Jewish education and involvement. Students and families participate in the program over six sessions in the year preceding B’nai Mitzvah.
Shaarey Tikvah also has tutors available to help children prepare for Bar or Bat Mitzvah. For more information about preparing for B’nai Mitzvah, we invite you to reach out to our Rabbi or Executive Director.
